Energy Conversion
Our research group is focused on investigating the photochemical, photophysical and chemical properties of functional materials or coordination compounds in order to understand the fundamental phenomena involved in the processes of converting sunlight into another type of energy. With the understanding of the phenomena involved, we seek to modulate properties to improve the devices.
Research
Perovskites Solar Cells
Perovskite Solar Cells are devices capable of converting sunlight directly into electrical energy, being one of the great promises for the future. They have achieved high performance and therefore have attracted great interest in research. In our group, we have investigated electron loss processes, such as those that occur in electron-hole pair recombination processes, to improve the performance of these cells. We are also interested in approaches to increase the durability of these devices. Seeking to achieve these goals, we have prepared devices using different architectures; deposition methods, composition and dimensionality of perovskites; seeking to correlate systematic changes with changes in the performance of solar cells and with recombination processes.
